Steven StandingCloud and Gordon Coons Art Reception

AICHO Galleries

State-wide media showed up to the Gordon Coons and Steven StandingCloud art reception including MPR News, WDSE-TV and Line Break Media.

Our Cultural Arts Program funder McKnight Foundation is producing video features on a few programs that they support. AICHO was selected. So a film crew came up early on Saturday to interview AICHO Executive Director LeAnn Littlewolf (Leech Lake Nation tribal citizen) and Artist Gordon Coons (Lac Courte Oreilles Nation tribal. citizen). Then they stayed to get footage of the reception.

We are grateful for this state-wide recognition of the great work that AICHO is providing our Indigenous and BIPOC artists, and larger community. We are looking forward to seeing the video and all the visual documentation that was taken by the media that special night.

Gordon Coons (Lac Courte Oreilles Nation tribal member) and Steven StandingCloud (Red Lake Nation tribal member) Art Reception Program featured a welcome by Ivy Vainio (Grand Portage Nation direct descendant), guest speaker presentation by Miikanan Gallery Program Director Karen Goulet (White Earth Nation tribal member), and artist talks by Gordon and Steven. Music provided by James Harvin (Nahua).
