Kane Miller
September 1, 2023 - October 30, 2023
Kane Miller, infant son of Jake Miller and Jesse "Jaddey" Wadena, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital.
Kane Jacob Miller came into this world on Friday, September 1, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN. In that moment, Jaddey and Jake knew their little Kane would do things his own way and in his own time. After being made aware of the baby's health challenges during the pregnancy, a delivery was planned in Rochester with a specialized medical team, but Kane decided to arrive early, keeping his parents on their toes. He immediately received his first helicopter ride to receive care at the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Kane had so many caring doctors, nurses, family members, and friends supporting him during every moment of his life. His care team at the hospital was a huge part of his life, they were his family, and they made sure he was taken care of every minute of each day. All Kane ever knew was love. Jake and Jaddey had been told they'd likely only spend less than a week with their angel, but they had faith he'd be with them longer. So, although never long enough, the gift of 60 days together was a true blessing. Over these precious 699 hours, they saw the sparkle in Kane's eyes, how he responded to his mom and dad's voices, and how his little personality flourished. He was stubborn, feisty, and was very outspoken. In fact, Kane was so outspoken that the nurses often said he was "spicy" as he let them know exactly what he liked... or what he didn't. Kane was a true warrior and brought so many people together. As his story was shared, communities near and far supported and prayed for Kane and his family. This shared love provided a shield around Kane and helped all of their faith grow stronger. Kane will forever be held in their hearts until they can hold him again in Heaven.
Kane will be missed by his parents; three brothers: Lucas, Adrian, and Eli Miller; his grandparents: Jack and Lisa Fabre, Tracy Wadena, Athelia Miller-Harrison, Jesse Alvarado, and Ann Brown; great grandparents: Carol and Doug Fabre, Jenny and John Uruo, Wanda Folstrom, and Florene Harrison; aunts and uncles: Joshua Jerome, Levi Jerome, Cierra (Aaron Donovan) Miller, Isiah Miller, Elijiah Miller, Brandon Harrison, Tyler Harrison, Marquis Miller, Tiana Miller, Taylor (Brandon) Tellefario, Luke Wadena, Tesshelle (Lucas Hisgun) Brown, Jack "Buddy" Fabre, Amber (Dustin) Johnson, Zachary Neeland, Justice Alvarado, Jesse Alvarado Jr., and Jordan Alvarado; and many, many loving cousins.
He is being held in Heaven by his grandpa's, Randy Miller and Mike Brown; one cousin, Uriah Miller; great grandparents: Chip and Bonnie Wadena, Ramero Alvarado, and Ambrose Thompson; his great great grandmother, Mary Oppegard; and a great great uncle, Oscar Oppegard.
