Sanford Health in Bemidji welcomes Daniel Hoody as regional Vice President, Clinic & Medical Officer

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Sanford Health in Bemidji is excited to welcome Daniel Hoody, MD, MSc, into his new role as our region's Vice President, Clinic and Medical Officer.

Originally from Bemidji, Dr. Hoody earned his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He worked as a hydraulic design engineer for Caterpillar, Inc. for several years prior to enrolling in medical school. He received his M.D. from the University of Minnesota Medical School where he participated in the Rural Physician Apprenticeship Program (RPAP) in Granite Falls, MN. He also completed a Master of Science in health economics, policy and management from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

With over a decade of clinical experience as a hospitalist, Dr. Hoody has also held assistant professorships at the University of Colorado and University of Minnesota as well as seven years in executive leadership roles. Most recently, he served as the Chief Medical Officer for Hennepin Healthcare overseeing clinical operations, organizational quality and safety, provider practice services and medical education for 11 inpatient and outpatient medical facilities in the Twin Cities area.

As Vice President, Clinic and Medical Officer, for the Bemidji region, Dr. Hoody will be responsible for strategic operations of all clinics; efforts to develop and coordinate clinical pathways, practice patterns, protocols and leadership development; and delivery of safe, high-quality evidence-based health care. He will also be practicing medicine as a hospitalist in addition to his leadership duties.
