Ombindwaa Gidinawemaaganinaadog Community Celebration and Gathering held on Monday - P29

The Ombindwaa Gidinawemaaganinaadog Community Celebration and Gathering was held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at a swimming area commonly referred to as "the Cut-Off" between Redby and Ponemah.

Although no official count was reported at the time of this publishing, there had to be nearly 1000 men. women and children in attendance throughout the well-organized event that was sponsored by Red Lake Family and Children Services in collaboration with Izhaadaa Agwaajing.

Some of the activities included a community feast, a mountain bike course, pontoon and boat rides, beach games, a hoop dance performance by the Sampson brothers, music by Corey Medina and a fireworks show topping it all off at night.

A Cultural Community Healing Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 2 PM - 5 PM at the Red Lake Powwow Grounds which includes a giveaway and feast. Everyone is welcome to join the healing journey together, and is also sponsored by Red Lake Family and Children Services.
