Public Hearing on New Jail Location

Bemidji, MN – The Beltrami County Board of Commissioners will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 in the County Board Room at 701 Minnesota Ave NW to allow the public to comment on the location of the new Beltrami County Jail. The Board meeting is scheduled to start at 5PM.

Two properties have been identified that meet the needs of the new jail location. The first property is the “Quello Property” located on the north side of Carr Lake Rd SE at Fenske Ave SE. The second is the “Crown Property” located on Pioneer Street SE west of Railroad St SE. Both properties are in or near the Bemidji Industrial Park and are zoned properly to meet the requirements of the Greater Bemidji Area Joint Planning Board.
