Superior National Forest is Hiring up to 30 Entry-level Techs August 14 – 21, 2023

Duluth, Minn, August 3, 2023–Up to 30 entry level positions on the Superior National Forest will be open for application August 14 to 21 on http://www.usajobs.gov. The Superior NF Staff are offering two workshops in Grand Marias and Grand Rapids on August 14 to help interested residents apply.

The Superior NF is hiring entry-level forestry technicians for Grand Marais, Tofte, Aurora, Ely, and Cook, Minnesota.

Applications will be accepted via http://www.usajobs.gov for the Forestry technician GS-0462-04 positions advertised at entry grade GS-04, with full performance GS-05, 06, or 07, based on the position being filled.

Application Workshops

In addition, the Superior National Forest is hosting application workshops for this hiring event on Monday, August 14, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Come in-person and we will help potential candidates navigate the hiring system and get advice.

Forestry technicians perform a variety of work to help the National Forest System meet goals for forest restoration, resiliency, and management. Duties are specific to location and could include marking for timber sales, forest inventory, reforestation and stand improvement, timber sale boundary layout, and recreation and trails management.

These entry-level positions are for candidates with just a year of work experience or 2 years of college or vocational school, these permanent, full-time positions provide a pathway to launch a career with the Forest Service.
