Jami Joy Pankow, "Giniwikwe" meaning "Golden Eagle Woman" of the Eagle Clan and Warroad, MN, unexpectedly journeyed to the spirit world on Friday, June 2, 2023. She was born on June 5, 1981, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Dawn Pankow and Darrell Crowe, Sr.

Jami loved taking family trips, especially those to a Minnesota Twins Game. She loved family gatherings and was always planning something for the next one. She enjoyed beading, going to pow wows, going to the casino, gambling, playing slots, blackjack, and cards. Jami was an excellent cook, making the best stuffed shells, and of course that meant she liked to eat too. She liked playing in a women's summer softball league, watching true crime shows and mysteries on YouTube, and goin' for a cruise. Her favorite music was 90's R&B. Jami was a people person, always helping others and making new friends came easily to her, however, she was a little feisty if you upset her. Jami loved surrounding herself with friends and family and did not like to be alone. Jami will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those Jami leaves behind to forever cherish her memory are her daughters, Taylor St. Clair, Rian Graves; special daughter, Rickie May; sons, Izaiah (Danae) Graves, Jamisson Graves, Chance Chaboyea; parents, Dawn Pankow and Darrell Crowe Sr .; brothers, Michael (Emily) Pankow, Darrell (Maddie) Crowe, Dallas (Mariah) Crowe; sister, LeaAngela (Jerry) Rodgers; aunts, Ardith Lussier, Laurie Lussier, Karla Pankow; uncles, David Pankow, Marcus Fastwolf; nephews, Kaleb Neadeau, Derrell Pemberton, Amaure Thunder, Darrell Crowe III, Charlie Draper, Malechi Pankow, Braylee Oakgrove, Lincoln Crowe; nieces, Laila Pankow, Miley Pankow, Skye Crowe, Chamile Pankow, Adele Crowe, Ariella Crowe; and close friend, Juan Vasquez.

Those greeting Jami in the spirit world are her grandmas, Angelina Fastwolf and Margaret Crowe; uncles, Jeff and Bertran Lussier, Donald "Juno" Pankow; cousin, Gary Lussier; and the father of Jami's eldest child, Donnie "Worm" St. Clair.

A two-night wake for Jami will begin on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. and continue until her Saturday, June 10, 2023, 10:00 a.m. service, all to be held at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN. Jami's Spiritual Advisors are Zac Earley and Ty Stately. Those helping to lay Jami to rest are Melvin Brunner, Marcus Fastwolf, Leon Lussier, Percy Lussier, Anthony Johnson, Gary Spears, Doug Brunner, Marcus Juarez, and Gary James Nelson. Honorary pallbearers are Red Lake EMT Staff, Misty Dow, Karla Lussier, Megan Hanson, Allie Cook, Patty Bugg, Mark Kingbird, Tyann Stillday, Kari Cook, Juan Vasquez, all of Jami's friends and family. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN.
