Edward Jack Larson Sr. was born to Leonard and Sandra (Norcross) Larson on July 11, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois. Ed Journeyed to the Spirit World on June 3, 2023.

He grew up in South Minneapolis and spent most of his life in the area attending Greely Elementary, Phillips Jr. High and other area schools. When Ed was 15 years old, he met Jewel Oakgrove and they became life long companions. Through this union eight children were welcomed to his family: Renee, Edward Jr., Anthony, Michael, Jessica, Joseph, Brandon, Laura and eight grandchildren.

In 1985, Ed was hired at Superpainters, working his way up to foreman and later on he worked for America’s Painting Company and RV Painters. Ed got the opportunity to work along-side his brothers, son’s and best friends in his 38 years of painting.

Ed had a passion for cars, owning many in his life. He started driving at the age of 13 and owned his first vehicle by the time he was 15, a 1970 Challenger.

He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, fishing, hanging out with his brothers, going to pull a few slots at the Casino. Having a puff with his pals joking around and teasing.

Welcoming Ed into the Spirit World is his beloved: Jewel Marie; son: Eddie; his parents; special brother: Richard Norcross; special sister: Cassandra Norcross; paternal grandparents: Edward Jack Larson Sr. and Lucille Brunette; maternal grandparents: Frank Bigbear Sr. and Maxine Norcross; special uncle and aunt (bonus parents) Tony Bigbear and Lucina Hardy; very special niece: Denise Oakgrove and many other aunties, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Edward is survived by his children: Renee Oakgrove (David), Anthony (Karis), Mick, Jess (Sebastian), Joseph, Brandon and Laura (Glen); grandchildren: David Jr., Raymond Clark, Anthony Jr., Jayla, Lola, Sophia, Avah and Alivia; brothers: Paul Larson, John Larson (Alyson), Leonard Jr .; step brother: Robert Benjamin Jr .; sisters: Cody Leecy and Josephine Feather; many other nephews, nieces and other loving family and friends.

Casket bearers will be Eugene Jacobson, Star Wallowingbull, Marcus Larson, David Olsen Jr., Baby Tone, Raymond Clark, Sonny Bigbear, Sebastian Larson, and Sonny Deer.

Honorary Casket bearers: his brothers: Paul, John, and Lenny; The Bob and Larry Valiano family; his uncles: Donovan Larson, Alvin Gjustrum, Sam Crowell, David Norcross, Frank Bigbear Jr .; his pals: Levi St. John, Alvin Morrison, Lou Deagan, Donovan Goodman, Ace Eferan, Gene Libby and family; the Oakgrove family; the Benjamin family; the St. John family, the Archambault, all his painting crew past and present.

An all-night visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 beginning at Dusk at The Church of Gichitwaa Kateri in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 beginning at Dusk at the Old Pine Point School in Ponsford, Minnesota.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Ponsford, Minnesota.

Interment will be held at St. Theodore Cemetery in Ponsford, Minnesota.
