Man walking near south Minneapolis intersection is struck by school bus and killed

A Minneapolis school bus driver hit and killed a man Monday morning in south Minneapolis, school officials said.

The crash occurred about 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of E. 28th Street and S. Cedar Avenue, said school district spokeswoman Crystina Lugo-Beach.

The man was walking east on 28th and was hit by the bus as it turned left from eastbound 28th onto northbound Cedar, said police, who did not say precisely where the man was when struck.
