Arnold Carl Kingbird, Sr., whose ojibwe name is Niizhobines (Two Thunder) 64, of Bemidji, MN died on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at his home in Bemidji.

Traditional Indian Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN. A wake will begin on Wednesday at 3:00 pm and then continue until the time of the funeral on Friday at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds, Ponemah, MN.

Arnold was born into the Bear Clan on March 17, 1959 in Red Lake, MN, the son of David Medicine, Sr. and Marion Kingbird. He married Becky Ann Jones on July 6, 1989 in International Falls, MN. He was a teacher in Red Lake for several years. He enjoyed going to casinos, powwows, native teaching, beadwork, making regalia, fishing, singing and drumming and liked to play his guitar.

Arnold is survived by his wife, Becky Kingbird of Fort Frances, Ontario; mother, Marion Medicine of Bemidji, MN; 6 children, Amy (Tim) Kuhlman of Northome, MN, Belva Kingbird of Fort Frances, Ontario, Arnold (Kristin) Kingbird, Jr. of Oklahoma, Troy (Karleigh) Kingbird of Fort Frances, Ontario, Darwin (Rita) Kingbird of Squaw Lake, MN, and Andrew (Jen) Kingbird of Fort Frances, Ontario; 2 sisters, Sylvia Medicine and Glendoris Medicine; 5 brothers, Fabian Kingbird, Darrell Medicine, Arlan Medicine, Myron Medicine and David Medicine, Jr.; 12 grandchildren, Timothy, Corey, Lillian, Jason, Daezia, Cheyenne, Kane, Nevaya, Shylow, Lennyx, Taytum and Ellie; and his beloved Chihuahua, Loretta Lynn.
