Hwy 1 in Red Lake temporarily detoured for water main break

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Motorists will experience a temporary detour on Highway 1 in Red Lake. The detour follows Walking Shield Road between Highway 89 and Reservation Highway 44.
A water main break over the weekend damaged a portion of Highway 1 in Red Lake. The detour will be in place until repairs to the driving surface can be completed.

DUE TO A FAILURE OF THE MAIN AT PIKES CREEK, HIGHWAY 1 IS CLOSED AT PIKES CREEK TO THRU TRAFFIC.
A DETOUR ROUTE TO BYPASS THE RED LAKE PORTION OF HWY 1 WILL BE ON WALKING SHIELD ROAD AND HEART LAKE TRAIL.
THE WALKING TRAIL IS ALSO CLOSED AT THE PIKES CREEK CROSSING.
