TechSoup Expands Programs and Services to Tribal Libraries

SAN FRANCISCO - TechSoup recently announced that it is expanding its suite of public library offerings to tribal libraries through a partnership with the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, & Museums (ATALM). TechSoup is a nonprofit that offers products and services to over half of U.S. public libraries from leading companies like Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco, Intuit, Dell, and AWS.

TechSoup and ATALM will co-host a free webinar for tribal libraries on Tuesday, March 21 at 3 p.m. Eastern. The webinar will highlight the resources, technology, donated products and services now available to tribal libraries through TechSoup. “We can’t thank ATALM enough for working with us to support tribal libraries. All of us at TechSoup are deeply honored by what we hope will be one of many opportunities to better serve Native communities” said TechSoup’s Senior Director Kyle Reis.

“Tribal libraries are the most underfunded libraries in the nation, yet they are relied upon to provide free access to broadband and technology services for community members. The products and services offered by TechSoup will enable tribal libraries to expand services and better address the digital inequities found in many Native communities. We are grateful to TechSoup and the generous companies that provide support,” said Susan Feller, President & CEO, Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums.

Walter Echo-Hawk, ATALM’s Board Chair and President of the Pawnee Nation, added “TechSoup’s tribal libraries expansion will help narrow the digital divide in Indian Country. I applaud its commitment to Native communities. This is an important step for TechSoup as it seeks to serve a larger spectrum of civil society entities.”
