MENTAL HEALTH INTAKE WORKER

OMBIMINDWAA GIDINAWEMAAGANINAADOG

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Ombimindwaa's mental health program provides community based services for Red Lake Nation. The intake worker is responsible for supporting non-clinical functions of the mental health program and is the first point of contact for those seeking mental health service.

Full-time position w/benefits, salary; DOQ.  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Receive and manage mental health referrals

• Send, collect, and track initial paperwork needed

• If needed, meet with person and screen for eligibility of mental health services.

• Complete required referral paperwork and follow workflow until a provider is assigned

• Discuss mental health services when asked and provide resources

• Be the first point of contact for mental health services

• Answer the main mental health phone line

• Create charts in the electronic health record

• Manage the electronic fax system

• Complete service reports and input data as requested by leadership

• Manage Records Requests made to Ombimindwaa Mental Health Program, and assist mental health providers to receive records from hospitals, schools, mental health agencies etc.

• Coordinate pre-placement meeting paperwork, schedule screening dates, and contacting all professionals needing to be involved.

• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED

• Experience working within an office setting

• Valid Driver's License and insurance for travel between sites and other business related destinations.

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
