Elaine Marie Jensen, 84, of Battle Township, MN died on Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center in Bemidji, MN.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Blackduck, MN with Rev. Kristen Ostercamp officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Quiring Union Cemetery at a later date.
Elaine was born on September 3, 1938 in Nymore, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Theoline (Thompson) Hoem. She attended school until 9th–10th grade at Bemidji, MN. She was united in marriage to Norman Charles Jensen on June 21, 1958 in Bemidji. They moved to Goodhue, MN where they worked on a farm from 1958-1962. They then moved to Battle River and farmed beef cattle and started the business, Jensen's Store, which is still in operation. They have owned and operated the store since, selling groceries, had a tire shop and did shoe repair. She enjoyed being a homemaker, playing along with Wheel of Fortune & Price is Right, watching birds coming in to her bird feeder, her past & current dogs and visiting with customers in the store.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jensen of Battle River, MN; 3 sons, Gordon (Coleen) Jensen of Thief River Falls, MN, Ed (Nayda) Jensen of rural Blackduck, MN and Mike Jensen of Battle River, MN; 3 grandchildren, Allison Jensen, Jay Cheney and Caroline Cheney; sister, Shirley (Ron) Binkert of Bemidji, MN; sister-in-law, Judy Hoem of Bemidji, MN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman Jensen in 2016; 3 brothers, Bud, Johnny and David Hoem; and 2 sisters, Doris Glime and Karen Sisson.
