Glenda Faye Smith, "Waabishkimigizikwe" meaning "White Eagle Woman", age 41, of the Bear Clan and Bemidji, Minnesota, started her spiritual journey on Monday, December 26, 2022, from her home in Bemidji. She was born on September 30, 1981, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Oras (Hanson) Smith and John C. Smith.

Glenda loved being a mom to Enzley more than anything, she loved spending time with family and friends. She liked listening to music, doing her hair, makeup, and dressing up with fancy earrings. She enjoyed going to the casino, laughing, shopping, and going for rides. She had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. Glenda always enjoyed a good football party and cheering on the MN Vikings. She liked going to family gatherings and bringing the deviled eggs and pasta salad. No matter what, family was family, and she always had their back, she would stick up for all that she loved through thick and thin. Glenda will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Greeting Glenda in the spirit world are her mom, Oras; grandparents, Joyce and Kenneth "Squince" Hanson, Vivian and Jim Smith; aunties, Cheryl, Karen, Brenda, and Glenda Smith; uncles, Daniel Smith, Douglas and Gerald Hanson; and cousin, Colin "Kenny" Hanson.

Those left behind to cherish Glenda's memory are her dad, John C. Smith; daughter, Enzley "Love Bug" Smith; brother, Richard (Michelle) Butcher; sisters, Rhonda Butcher, Joy (Louis) Peterson; aunties, Brenda (Henry) and Mary Hanson, Debbie Brown; uncle, Marvin Hanson; close cousins, Jaime ("Ro") Hanson, Sara Hanson, Rachel (Daniel) Sutton-Barrientez, Amanda Sutton; niece, Marcey; nephews, Douglas, Gerald, Riley, Dominic; and many more family members and friends.

An overnight wake for Glenda will begin on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. and continue until her Saturday, December 31, 2022, 10:00 a.m. service, all to be held at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN. Glenda's Spiritual Advisor is Chato Gonzalez. Those helping to lay Glenda to rest are Douglas Butcher, Gerald Butcher, Dominic Butcher, Riley Butcher, Daniel "Sun" Barrientez, Robert "Ro" Fairbanks, Sr., Louis Peterson, Mark Hanson, and Robert Fairbanks, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are all Glenda's family and friends. Interment will be in Prince of Peace Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN.
