The L.E.A.D. project is an innovative 5-year partnership between the Red Lake Department of Public Safety, Tribal Courts and other Social Service Programs to undertake a coordinated approach to reduce recidivism, substance abuse, violence, and associated outcomes such as incarceration by diverting individuals from the courts to the L.E.A.D. Program. 1-Male and 1 Female position, Reports to the Executive Director, full-time position with benefits. Salary; DOQ.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Assists with the creation and implementation of L.E.A.D.'s policy, procedures and protocol development; assists with evaluation of efforts to improve outcomes and/or strategies.
• Coordinates project goals and objectives with key tribal service programs: Social Services, Law Enforcement, Chemical Health, Job Placement/Training Program and other Tribal programs as identified.
• Provide oversight and monitoring of the L.E.A.D. Project Plan; including managing the project budget; maintaining and monitoring the CTAS Grant requirements; managing project resource allocation; plan and schedule project timelines; and track project deliverables in accordance with the Project plan.
• Manage program evaluations and assessments, focusing on identifying and disseminating best practices and performance measurement outcomes. Use key performance parameters to monitor work performance, measure results, ensure deliverables and services meet or exceed the Project Plan, support management and decision-making, and facilitate communications.
• Monitors and/or assesses execution of applicable programs with responsibility in making recommendations on all phases of L.E.A.D. Project Plan. Identifies areas of improvement and strength and provides guidance on the attainment of such recommendations.
• Familiar with and open to the application of harm reduction models/principles in substance abuse treatment programming.
• Provide oversight and supervision of L.E.A.D. Project Staff.
• Provide Outreach and Intensive Case Management services for participants.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings with Collaborative Team.
• Attend staffing of participants with partners.
• Assist participants in gaining entry into service programs and accompany participants to appointments as needed.
• Provide advocacy and support for participants within the criminal justice system including court appearances and written communication across all jurisdictions.
• B.A. Degree preferred but not mandatory; or a combination of education, work experience and training.
• Knowledge of Ojibwe history, culture and value system.
• Possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals of various economic, educational and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to set boundaries, resolve conflict and de-escalate issues.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, etc.
• Energetic and committed, with a willingness and ability to work across multiple programs to provide the best possible service to the needs of clients.
• Ability to organize/maintain detailed records; complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines
• Possess strong writing and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.
• Ability to work independently, without close supervision and varying hours.
• Valid Minnesota driver's license and auto insurance
• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check.
