This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of eastern North Dakota, west central and northwest Minnesota.
DAY ONE...Wednesday Afternoon andnight.
Some patchy freezing drizzle will be possible mainly over eastern North Dakota this afternoon and evening, with warmer temperatures keeping rain liquid further east. However, more freezing rain and sleet will begin to push into the area late tonight.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday
Mixed precipitation of rain, freezing rain, and sleet will continue through much of the day Thursday before changing over to
all snow late in the afternoon. The mixed precipitation will help bring a very large range in snow amounts southeastern North Dakota and west central to northwest Minnesota, where accumulations could range from around an inch to over 8 inches. Any amount of snow on top of a layer of ice will bring winter travel impacts, so a winter storm warning is in effect.

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM THURSDAY TO 10 AM CST FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 16 inches and ice accumulations of around
one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
* WHERE...Lake Of The Woods and North Beltrami Counties.
* WHEN...From 4 AM Thursday to 10 AM CST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates of over an inch an hour are possible.
