Ronald Jack Kingbird, "Ogima Wi Gaabow" meaning "A Leader Standing", age 42, of the Eagle Clan and International Falls, MN unexpectedly journeyed to the spirit world on Monday, October 31, 2022, from St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born in Red Lake, MN on December 26, 1979, the son of Marlene (Spears) and Jack Kingbird, Jr.
Ronald loved his dog, KiKi, taking her for rides and walks. He enjoyed working construction at Schaak Construction Inc. in International Falls, MN. He used to love helping his dad with ricing and preparing the wild rice, and maple syruping. He liked fishing, going to the casino, skating, playing pond hockey with his friends, and singing at Pow Wows or with drum groups, and learning new songs. Ronald was a good hearted, hard working young man. He was always helping or offering to help friends and family. He was always smiling, joking around or making someone laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those greeting Ronald in the spirit world are his grandparents, Lucille and Jack Kingbird, Sr .; uncles, Edmond, Gerald, Ronald, and Harold Kingbird; aunties, Donna Lewis and Josie Whitefeather.
Those Ronald leaves behind to forever cherish his memory are his dad, Jack (Debra) Kingbird, Jr. of International Falls; mom, Marlene Spears; sons, Dominic Kingbird of Canada, Alexander Kingbird of Bemidji, MN; brother, Farrell Kingbird of International Falls; sister, Alisa Kingbird of Duluth, MN; aunties, Phyllis (Paul) Smith of Ponemah, MN, Dorris Kingbird of Red Lake, MN; uncles, Willard (Andrea) Kingbird of Bemidji, Darrell (Andrea) Kingbird of Ponemah, Spencer Whitefeather of LaPorte, MN, Curtis Kingbird of Redby, MN; nieces, Nina May Kingbird and Angelica Kingbird both of International Falls; numerous other family members and friends.
An overnight wake for Ronald will begin Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. and continue until his Friday, November 4, 2022, 10:00 a.m. traditional service, all to be held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN. Ronald's Spiritual Advisor will be Arnold Kingbird. Helping to lay Ronald to rest will be Keith Caldwell, William Kingbird, Bruce Taylor, Jr., Eric Whitefeather, Seneca Whitefeather, Kendrick Kingbird, Mickey French, and Elliot Whipple. Honorary pallbearers are all Ronald's family and friends. Following his traditional service interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN.
