Beverly "Baby Jean" J. Rainbow

Beverly "Baby Jean" J. Rainbow

July 27, 1977 - October 21, 2022

Beverly Jean Rainbow, aka Baby Jean, 45 of Fort Totten, ND passed away on October 21, 2022, at the St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana surrounded by her sister Johanna and nieces.

Beverly was born on July 27, 1977, to the late but beautiful Inez Elaine Robertson and the late Joseph "Sunny" Rainbow. Bev was the youngest of 11 children but the second girl. Beverly's father also had children from a previous marriage, and she had three other sisters and two other brothers.

In 2005, she met her partner, Bernard Mudgett. Together they had three beautiful daughters: Delayne, Elyza, and Sunny. She loved her girls with all her heart, they were truly her pride and joy. She was always very protective of her girls and rarely spent time apart.

For her years of education, Bev attended Four Winds and Mandaree. Since Bev was the youngest of her siblings, and close in age with some of her nieces and nephews, they grew up like brothers and sisters. She also would babysit and help raise a few of her younger nieces and nephews, taking them for walks, telling them ghost stories to scare and laugh at them, and always had a niece play with her hair and rub her back. Bev also had a few of her niece's daughters that she held dear to heart and were special to her: Big Elyza as she called her, Raylene, and Baby Rory whom she would call Baby Jade just to irritate Baby Rory's dad. Whenever they needed something, and it could be anything, Bev was right there trying to help them. During some of our most painful times she was there to help comfort us, make us smile, or laugh. Her best medicine was to make you laugh, that was her gift from God. She could make you laugh so hard sometimes you would be crying, almost peeing in your pants, tough time catching your breath, or your cheeks would be hurting from smiling the whole time you were with her and that is just a few reactions from her jokes and comments. After the loss of our beloved grandmother Elaine, Beverly kept up the tradition of making frybread on a daily basis. Her friends knew her for her frybread making skills.

Bev was like a spider in the middle of the web for our family. Everyone would call her and talk to her, or she would call you. She was the family messenger, and she always knew what everyone was up to. It was very rare if she didn't know how one of her nieces or nephews were doing or what they were up to. She was always happy and proud of us, when we would tell her good things we were working on or accomplished. She also always had a good story to tell, and it would always be funny plus she would always exaggerate it to make it funnier. She would usually tell us what really happened after she would get us all fired up and laughing. Most of Beverly's friends and families' memories are of her making you laugh. It was exceedingly rare that Bev wouldn't get along with someone because she was always so forgiving and caring. Our beloved and beautiful Baby Jean will be greatly missed by all her friends and family, especially her girls Raylene, Delayne, Elyza, and Sunny.

Beverly is survived by her three girls, Delayne, Elyza and Sunny; special babies Big Elyza, Raylene, and Baby Rory; brothers Thomas (Lori) Robertson, Jeremiah (Nancy) Robertson, Mark Robertson, David Robertson, James Robertson, Paul Robertson, Daniel Rainbow and Claude "Bernie" Rainbow; sisters Johanna Hunt, Lisa Rainbow, Roberta Rainbow, Debbie Rainbow and Delreen Robertson; aunt Helena Littleghost; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elaine Robertson and Joseph "Sunny" Rainbow, brothers Kim Robertson , David Robertson, and Samuel Robertson, only special brothers-in-law Ronald Hunt Sr. and Larry Rainbow; sister Martina Robertson, aunts Mary Littlewind, Elizabeth Littleghost, Pauline Yankton-Greywater, Arlene Littleghost, and Lavern Littleghost, uncles LeRoy Littleghost, James Littleghost, and Jerome Waanatan, nieces Crystal Robertson, Bernadette Robertson-Jackson and Penny Robertson.
