PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Registered Nurse position at the Obaashiing Treatment Center (OTC) will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary treatment team. The core duties and responsibilities of the position will include providing initial nursing assessments, communicating directly will individual providers, and providing necessary information for staff in regards to any needed health information. The RN will also be responsible for assisting waivered providers in providing Opiate Use Disorder treatment, specifically with Buprenorphine. The position will primarily be a Monday thru Friday position, however nontraditional hours may be required. Reports to Executive Director, full time position with benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Monitor and attend to relative's physical and mental health needs.

• May conduct urine drug screen analysis and collection from individuals in OTC's care or staff.

• Work directly with clinical treatment team on medical treatment plans.

• Communicate necessary medical information to pertinent treatment center staff.

• Assure that relatives of treatment center have their medical needs met.

• Observe and report relative's behaviors.

• Manage relative's medical appointments and medications (as well as refills).

• Prepare required paperwork prior to doctor appointments.

• Maintain a log of relatives' appointments and may transport relatives to/from appointments.

• Coordinate services with appropriate treatment center staff, medical, and mental health departments.

• Coordinate transportation to and from medical appointments with appropriate staff.

• Provide necessary training annually and on an as needed basis to treatment center staff.

• Maintain medical supplies inventory.

• Able to respond to referrals made by other social services agencies.

• Abide by and maintain confidentiality rules and regulations.

• Refrain from mood- altering chemicals.

• May act as point of contact or on site supervisor when necessary.

• Possess knowledge of rules and regulations in regards to opiate use disorder treatment.

• Responsible for working directly with waivered prescribers for opiate use disorder treatment.

• Responsible for documentation, observation, and other as needed duties in relation to buprenorphine inductions.

• Provide input on procedures and policies related to overall organizational policy development.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a current unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of MN

• Preferred 2 (two) years of experience working in a behavioral health setting

• Able to work cohesively with management and local agencies

• Must have at least 2 (two) years of sobriety.

• Must possess a valid MN driver's license and auto insurance

• Be available to work non-traditional hours.

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test.
