Donald "Ducks" Wayne White, age 66, of Deer River, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world on Friday, October 14th, 2022, from Essentia Hospital in Deer River, MN.

Ducks was born on Tuesday, December 6th, 1955, in Cass Lake, MN to Lorraine Helen (Goggleye) and Donald James White. After graduating from high school, Ducks enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country as a member of the 2nd Infantry. Ducks liked the simple life and was a very humble man which made him very well-liked by everyone who met him. He had a lot of friends and family who enjoyed his company. Ducks was one of the most generous, nicest, and very well-respected men around the Leech Lake communities. He was a very hard worker who worked for the Leech Lake Reservation, right up until his retirement, just a few years back. Ducks spent his free time enjoying his morning coffee, going out and socializing, playing his favorite machines, Keno and Pompeii, at the casino. Ducks also enjoyed the seasonal traditions and harvest of bough picking and ricing but his most treasured time was the time he spent with his children and grandbabies.

He is welcomed to the spirit world by his mother, Lorraine White; sister, Theresa White; grandparents, Sam White and Louise Spike, George and Maggie Goggleye; grandbabies, Octavia and Ariakiss White; nephews, Jay and Brian White and many other family members.

Family that Ducks leaves behind are his father, Donald White; children, Robert White, Regina White, Rebecca (Joe Fairbanks) White, Colleen (Gary Charwood, Jr.) Rushman-White and Colin Rushman; siblings, Gerald (Delina) White, Barbara Dubois, Timothy White, Judith White, Bruce (Nelda) White, Peter White, and James (Stephanie) White; 18 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and his many friends.

An overnight wake for Ducks will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18th and continue until his 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Wednesday, October 19th all to be held at the Inger Community Center in Inger, MN. Allen Hardy will be his Spiritual Advisor. Laying Ducks to rest are Loren Howard, Joe Fairbanks, Gary Charwood, Jr., William "Chilie" Bowstring, Robert "Moe" Rushman, Sr., and Benjamin "Benji" Bowstring. Alternate pallbearers are Marvin "Cat" Bowstring and Mike Hill. Duck's honorary pallbearers are Simon "Crum" Garbow, Francis Garbow, and Edwin Goggleye. Interment will be in the Spike Family Cemetery at Inger, MN immediately following his Wednesday service. Military honors accorded by the Leech Lake Honor Guard, Cass Lake, MN.
