Ramona Joyce (Lussier) Barrett

August 5, 1937 – October 15, 2022

Ramona Joyce (Lussier) Barrett journeyed to the Spirit world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from the Red Lake Indian Health Service Hospital on October 15th, 2022. She was born on August 5, 1937 (85 years old) to Joseph and Nancy (Dudley) Lussier at the Red Lake Hospital. She attended Redby Elementary School and Red Lake High School. She worked at the Red Lake Credit Union and at the Red Lake Hospital until devoting all her time to her seven children, and later on to some of her grandchildren. She enjoyed television, reading her Bible, listening to Elvis, Neil Diamond, Country, Gospel Music, and trips to the casino. She was a very loving and kind person who enjoyed spending time with her children and family, and family celebrations and get togethers. One of her special memories was attending an Elvis concert with her sister Joan.

She is welcomed to the Spirit World by her parents, her husband, Robert "Squirrel" Barrett; daughter, Lisa Clair Barrett Sayers; brothers Kennith Lawrence, Paul, Harlan, Donald Lussier; sisters Anna Schoenborn, Gertrude Beaulieu, Joan Donnell, and Barbera Brun. Along with many other relatives.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sister, Virgina Perkins; sons, Michael Barrett Sr., Leland Barrett, Mark (Lisa) Barrett, Arlyn (Kim) Barrett, Kevin Barrett; daughter Bridget (Fred) Auginash; and 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 19 great great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

An overnight wake will begin at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 and continue until her 1 PM funeral on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the Redby Community Center. Father George Ross will officiate.

Pallbearers for Ramona will be Robin Auginash, Michael Barrett Jr., Arlyn Barrett Jr., Jonathan Richards, Charlie Perkins, and Craig Graves Jr. Alternates will be Harold Sayers Jr., Steven Perkins, Jeff Brun, and Francis "Zoz" Brun.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frederick Auginash, Nancy Richards, Stacy Beaulieu, Kathy Brun, Lea Perkins, Ruth Ann Donnell, Leighchelle, Mikalana, Wyndi, Misty, Roberta, Dionne, Sheena, Bethany, Janelle, Merri Jo, Destinee, Karalee, Shianne, Nashelle, Mercedes, Maiingan, and Kiana

Interment will be at St. Antipas Episcopal Cemetery in Redby, MN following her Thursday services.
