Delbert "Dobbert" Wayne Rushman, Sr.

Delbert "Dobbert" Wayne Rushman, Sr., age 47, of the Bear Clan and Deer River, MN, started his journey to the spirit world on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from the St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born in Cass Lake, MN, on December 7, 1974, the son of Donna (Rushman) and Ernest Johnson, Sr.

Delbert loved being outdoors, especially picking boughs, he was very quick and could out pick anyone! Just like his father, he loved being busy and he worked best with his hands. He was a very talented artist. "Dobbert" loved gifting his artwork to family and friends and was very proud of his artwork. He was a very creative and crafty guy who enjoyed making arts and crafts such as wood burning, glass etching, and any kind of woodwork. He could take any piece of wood off the ground and turn it into something beautiful! He had a knack to be able to pick up any ordinary object and turn it into a piece of art! He loved his music and was always YouTubing his favorite bands. He was a huge lifetime fan of Guns N Roses; one of his favorite memories was attending their concert with his son, Deshaun. He loved being with family and spoke proudly of his children and grandchildren. "Dobbert" was also very proud of his nieces and nephews and had nicknames for all of them. Delbert left us too soon and he will be missed tremendously. His goofy sense of humor and laugh especially will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Those greeting Delbert in the spirit world are his dad, Ernest Johnson, Sr .; brother, Daniel Rushman; aunt, Debi Rushman; and grandpa, Henry "Rush" Rushman, Sr.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Delbert are his mom, Donna Johnson; sons, Delbert (Sarah) Rushman, Jr., Dominic (Gwen) Rushman, Tyrone Whitefeather, Deshaun Rushman, DeAngelo Rushman; daughter, Dezirre Rushman; brother, Ernest (Anna) Johnson, Jr .; sister, Marion (Seth) Rushman, Izetta Rushman, Lyla Johnson, Emma Johnson, Rosemary (Jeremy) Thompson, Samantha (Curtis) LaRoque, Kristina Rushman; grandchildren, Elysia, Dominic Jr., KiArro, Nevada, Lauralia, and one on the way; uncle, "Moe"; cousins, Roger Johnson, J.R. Johnson; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.

An overnight wake for Delbert will begin on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. and continue until his service on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. all to be held at the S. Lake Community Center in Squaw Lake, MN. Delbert's spiritual advisor will be Naabek Liberty. Those helping to lay Delbert to rest will be Mike "Mac" Allen, Giizey Harrison, Zach Rushman, Curt LaRoque, Glen Fineday, Phil Johnson, Sonny Rushman, Dave "Lil Man" Cloud with alternates are John Kingbird and Aaron Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are all his family and friends. Interment will follow in the George Johnson Memorial Cemetery in Winnie Dam, MN.
