Raymond J. Thompson, "Ohinni Iĥa Hoksina" 67 of Grand Forks ND passed away on September 23, 2022 at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks.

Wake Services will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Recreation Center. The procession to St. Michael will leave on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. from the old Walmart.

There will be a Native American Church Service at the Gerard Thompson residence on Sunday evening.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, October 3, 2022 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Recreation Center with burial in the Native American Church Cemetery, rural St. Michael.

Active Pallbearers will be Stephon Delorme, Michael Ironhawk, Louie Demarce, Stacey MakesGood, Roger Yankton, Adrian Alex, Jered Yankton and Jimmy Lenoir.

Honorary Pallbearers: All of Raymond's friends and Hunka relatives all over Indian Country.

Raymond was born on May 8, 1955 to Irene McKay and Nathan Thompson. Raymond was adopted by Ambrose A. Thompson Sr.

Raymond was an active member of the Native American Church and attended Native American Church services all over Indian Country. Raymond also loved to attend pow-wows, where he would sing and visit with family and friends. Raymond loved to hunt and fish whenever he could. Raymond made bows and arrows and also did mechanic work.

Raymond is survived by his only daughter Carla Pratt-Fuentes; grandchildren Shaelyn, Zayden, Kayley, Ashlan, Aveary, Catelina and Sophia; great grandbabies Brisa-Everly and Jamie all of Sioux Valley Manitoba, Canada; brothers Gerard Thompson Sr., Ambrose Thompson Jr. of St. Michael, ND, Gerald Thompson of Peever, South Dakota, Richard Mireau of Fort Washakie, Wyoming, Nathaniel Thompson of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Harold Thompson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and James Thompson of Orem, Utah; sisters Frances Thompson, Anna Thompson, Christine Thompson of Watertown, South Dakota, MaryLou Thompson of Sisseton, South Dakota, Germaine Thompson, Annrene Thompson, Selina Thompson, Marcella Thompson, Delphine Thompson, Florine Harrison and Arlene Belgarde all of St. Michael; aunt Catherine Howard; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was greeted in Heaven by those who had gone before him. His twin boys, mother Irene, father Nathan, adopted father, Ambrose, brother Bradley Thompson, sister Elizabeth Thompson, nephews Sampson, Sidney and Lyle, nieces Bliss, LuAnna, Roxanne and Tracy, aunts Lena Denne, Veronica Thompson-Demarce, Rose Walker, Theresa McKay-Lee, and Pauline Yankton Greywater, uncles Zachery Thompson and Floyd McKay, grandmother Mary Woods and grandfather Gabriel McKay.
