Sheriffs Across Minnesota Endorse Schultz

PLYMOUTH, Minn. – Today, in an unprecedented and historic show of public support, 22 county sheriffs from across the state of Minnesota announced their endorsement of Jim Schultz for Minnesota Attorney General. The sheriffs represent a broad range of Minnesota communities, including sheriffs from four of the state's largest counties.

"I am beyond humbled to be endorsed by sheriffs from across the state," said Schultz. "Over the past several months, I've been able to learn from these sheriffs about the specific concerns facing their counties and what the Attorney General can do to help them better protect their communities. From the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs to Greater Minnesota, our communities are hurting as a result of the failed leadership and reckless defund-the-police policies of Keith Ellison. As Attorney General, I will partner with our county sheriffs to make sure they have the tools they need to keep us safe. Together we will restore safety to our communities."

Current polling shows the race for Minnesota Attorney General as a statistical dead heat, with crime being second only to inflation and the economy as the issue most important to Minnesotans.

"Jim Schultz is the person Minnesota needs now," said Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher. "Our current attorney general has been missing in action over the past three years while violent crime has skyrocketed in Minnesota. What's more troubling, Keith Ellison wanted to eliminate the Minneapolis Police Department, further jeopardizing the safety of all citizens living in and visiting our state's largest city. This election is about ensuring that crime in Minnesota is effectively prosecuted and that police have the resources they need to arrest serious violent offenders. Jim understands the public safety needs of Minnesota and has the vision desperately needed in the Attorney General's office."

These sheriffs join other law enforcement individuals and associations in their endorsement of Schultz, including the Ramsey County Deputies' Federation and the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association.

"With the drastic increase of gunplay and violent crime over the past few years – coupled with the crisis of retention and recruitment of cops – public safety is at a breaking point," said David Titus, President of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association. "Negative rhetoric about law enforcement needs to stop. It emboldens criminals and demoralizes cops. We need an Attorney General that understands this and is willing to address violent criminals and make victims the priority. The public's safety is government's first priority."

Schultz will announce additional law enforcement endorsements in the coming weeks.

Not one of these guys are black. Wonder if that has anything to do with their decision to back this guy. I believe in are current AG. I like his views and agenda.

So, Red Lake Nation News is publishing this political propaganda press release as news? - 22 sheriff's out of 87 counties is broad support? - Please establish the claim that Ellison proposed or supported defunding MPD. - How exactly would the state Attorney General defund the MPD?
