Cpl. Shane Rothenberger recognized by the International Association of Chiefs of Police as a Global "40 under 40" award winner

The Grand Forks County Sheriff's Office is honored to announce that Cpl. Shane Rothenberger has been recognized by the International Association of Chiefs of Police as a Global "40 under 40" award winner!

As a 40 under 40 awardee, Cpl. Shane Rothenberger is recognized as a top rising leader from around the world, exemplifying leadership, dedication, and service to his community and the law enforcement profession.

Cpl. Rothenberger has been with the Sheriff's Office since 2016 and has consistently grown as an individual and a leader in our agency. He is involved in several roles in our agency including cultural liaison officer, field training officer, member of the unmanned aerial system (drone) team and is also our agency's Drug Recognition Expert.

Cpl. Rothenberger recently built a training program regarding Native American culture and has been teaching the program statewide to law enforcement peers. He was also recognized as our 2021 deputy of the year.

Cpl. Rothenberger is the third officer in the state of North Dakota to receive this distinguished award. He joins the previous recipients from Watford City Police Department and Fargo Police Department. He is also joined in receiving this award by 39 individuals from around the world including places such as Australia, Dubai, Korea, US Air Force, India, Canada, and many other areas.

As a recipient of this award, Cpl. Rothenberger will attend the annual IACP conference in Dallas, Texas in October and be recognized in front of more than 16,000 public safety professionals. We are fortunate to have Cpl. Rothenberger serving our community and our state!
