Kathleen "Kath" Defoe, at 64, of Red Lake, MN, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Indian Health Services in Red Lake.

Kath was born on March 23, 1958, in Red Lake, MN, to Priscilla Defoe and Benedict Beaulieu, Sr. She lived in Red Lake and worked at the Red Lake Trading Post for over 20 years. Kath was a homebody at heart who loved to sit on her porch. She loved being taken for rides in the car and enjoyed her visits to Uncle Troy. She also liked to venture to the casino to try her luck on the Moolah machine. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending with her special daughter, Kelly Defoe and grandchildren who she thought of as her own, as well as her nieces and nephews.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sibllings: Keith William (Jackie) Defoe, Patrick (Lisa) Defoe, Sr., Michael Defoe, Sr., Sheldon Defoe, Sr., Melvina Defoe; special daughter, Kelly Defoe; special grandchildren: Randy, Daniel, Kelsey, Cassandra, Courtney, Adalyn, Frankie and Carolyn; special niece, Angela Defoe; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Kath was preceded in death by her two infants, who she loved and missed dearly; parents: Priscilla Defoe and Benedict Beaulieu, Sr.; siblings: Sandra Holstein, Richard Defoe Sr., Eliza Defoe, David Defoe, Rodney J. Defoe, Daniel Defoe, Sr., and Benedict "Babe" Beaulieu, Jr.

The wake will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the Red Lake Center in Red Lake and continue until the service at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 9, 2022. Active Casketbearers will be: Michael S. Beaulieu, Chad Beaulieu, Cody Cook, Rod Defoe, Sr., Randy Defoe, Keith R. Defoe, Frank Defoe, Mike Defoe, Jr., Sheldon Defoe, Jr., Richard "Opie" Defoe, Jr., Byron Downwind, Jr., and Brandon Spears. Honorary casketbearers will be: Mary Omen, Phylis Juarez, Karen Donnell, Debbi Chaboyea, Angie Defoe, Connie Defoe, Deanna Defoe, Judy Jourdain, Kari Cook, Kelly Defoe, Cassandra Donnell, Courtney Donnell, Kelsey Donnell, Barbara Beaulieu, Pam Beaulieu, Maureen Beaulieu, Steven Defoe, Cassidy Defoe, Jackie Caldwell, Lisa K. Defoe, Uncle Troy Gillman, and her co-workers at the Red Lake Trading Post. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Red Lake.
