Shelda Rose (Gurno) Lussier

July 22, 1950 ~ August 30, 2022 (age 72)

Shelda Rose Lussier, "Animikii Binesi Ikwe" meaning "Thunderbird Woman" age 72, of the Eagle Clan and Red Lake, MN journeyed to the spirit world on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from St. Mary's Essentia Health in Duluth, MN. Shelda was born July 22, 1950, in Red Lake, the daughter of Barbara Gurno and Charles Kelly, Sr.

Shelda loved travelling the United States for work conferences. She enjoyed cookouts, reading, going to the casino, doing sudoku puzzles and crosswords. Shelda loved her grandkids and great-grandkids and would do anything for them! She made the best homemade soups and always had birthday celebrations planned for her family members. Shelda had a gift, being able to identify makes and models of classic cars, she would call them out when she saw them. In her younger years she enjoyed going to auctions, garage sales, and thrift stores. Shelda loved visiting on the phone and keeping in touch with her family and friends thru Facebook. Shelda will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Those Shelda joins again in the spirit world are her son, Daryl Lussier, Jr .; daughter, Tammy Lussier; parents, Barbara Gurno and Charles Kelly, Sr.;grandparents, Ambrosia and Frank Gurno; brothers, Frank, Darrell, David, Mitchell, Brian, Adrian, and John Gurno; sisters, Alberta Downwind, Nancy Gurno; grandsons, Clinton May, Jr., Diovion Neadeau, Jamey May, Jeefrey Weise; and Ex-Husband, Daryl Lussier, Sr.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Shelda are daughters, Shauna Lussier and Michelle (Clinton) May; brother, Thomas Gurno; sister, Phyllis Gurno; brothers and sisters from her dad's side; 12 grandchildren, Dion, Ashley, Vanessa, David, Shanae, Thomas, Tammy, Lichelle, Austin, Andrew, Serenity, Daniel; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

A two-night wake for Shelda will begin Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 3:00 pm. and continue until her Monday, September 5, 2022, 1:00 p.m. service, all to be held at the "Old" Community Center in Red Lake, MN. Those helping to lay Shelda to rest will be Charles Smith, Jr., Donald Roy, Gordon Roy, Ian Lussier, Dylan Lussier, Julian Lussier, Todd Smith, and Timothy Lussier. Honorary pallbearers are Phyllis Gurno, Delores Cloud-Hammit, Dion Neadeau, Dayveon Neadeau, Marcella Torres, Anita Lussier, Willa Lussier, and Ellen Lussier.
