Justin William Rock-Fairbanks, "Gimiwan" meaning "It's Raining", age 26, of the Bear Clan and from Cass Lake and Minneapolis, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world from the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN on August 12th, 2022. He was born the son of Leslie Rock and Robert Fairbanks, Sr. on July 19th, 1996, in Minneapolis, MN

Justin was born with a spark, the ability to light up a room. Even as a child, he had a contagious smile and laugh. Justin had a sweet heart and and warming sense of humor. He loved listening to music and was a very talented dancer. He cared so much for his sisters and brothers. As a father, I am so proud of the man Justin became, because he never lost that spark.

Family that welcomes Justin to the spirit world are his baby brother, Roshawn Fairbanks; grandma, Stephanie Rock; great grandpa, Sam Fairbanks; aunties, Joyce Fairbanks and Roberta Rock and many other relatives.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are his father, Robert (Jaime) Fairbanks, Sr. of Cass Lake; mother, Leslie Rock of Minneapolis; siblings, Clairissa, Robert Jr., Dazzlyn and Jordyn Fairbanks; niece, Azayliah; special friend, Endonnis LaChepelle and numerous grandmas, grandpas, aunties, uncles, cousins, family members and his many friends.

An overnight wake for Justin will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18th and continue until his 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Friday, August 19th all being held at the Prescott Community Center in Cass Lake, MN. Fred Desjarlait will be his Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers for Justin will be Matt Pendleton, Sonny LaBlanc, Daniel "Sun" Barrientez, Richard Butcher, Douglas Butcher and Robert Fairbanks, Jr. His honorary pallbearers are Leroy Fairbanks, Cedric Fairbanks, Clinton Fairbanks, and Brady Fairbanks. Interment will be in the Prince of Peace Cemetery at Cass Lake, MN immediately following his Friday service.
