Tracy Jo Whitefeather, "Binesii ikwe" which means "Thunderbird Woman", 38 years old of Ponemah, Minnesota and the Kingfisher Clan, began her journey to the spirit world on Saturday, August 13th, 2022 from the Red Lake Indian Hospital in Red Lake, MN. She was born to Patricia Perkins and Melvin Whitefeather, Sr. on June 30, 1984 in Red Lake, MN.

Tracy grew up in Ponemah and attended Ponemah Elementary until the 5th grade before beginning middle school at Kelliher. She went on to graduate from Kelliher High School in 2002. She worked at various jobs throughout the years including a stint at Red Lake IHS as a medical coder for which she earned her Associates Degree from Northwest Technical College. She has also worked at Seven Clans Casino in Thief River Falls, Ponemah Elementary as a para, and at the Ponemah Market. Tracy enjoyed reading, beading, watching her favorite TV shows, WWE (mostly for Roman Reigns), scrolling through Tik Tok, and going to her favorite restaurants. Whenever when she was with any of her close family or friends there was nothing but laughs. She was loved by so many.

Loved ones waiting to greet Tracy in the spirit world are her father, Melvin Whitefeather, Sr.; grandpas, Jerome Whitefeather and Isadore Perkins; grandmas, Amelia Whitefeather and Margaret Perkins; aunt, Carolyn Whitefeather; uncles, Alan and Vernon Whitefeather, Mitchell Perkins; cousins, Sherri Jo Thomas, Brittany Roy, Joshua Perkins, Chasidy Hardy; special nieces, Breanna and Bethany Perkins; special friend, Regina Rushman.

She will be greatly missed by her mother, Patricia (Rudy) Perkins; brothers, Melvin Whitefeather, Jr., Scott (Robyn) Perkins, Sr., Sheldon Perkins; sisters, Dawna (George) Whitefeather, Janelle (Kevin) Patterson; aunts, Jean, Donna, and Eunice Whitefeather, Melinda (TJ) Spears, Charlotte (Darren) Iceman, Melissa (James) Kingbird; uncles, Bobby (Kathy) Whitefeather, Eddie (Annie), Ron (Darilyn), and Curtis Perkins; special sons who she was raising, Louis "Pork" Jenkins IV and Dewayne "Minnow" Jenkins; pets (cats), Kitty Kitterson and Moo, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A wake for Tracy will begin at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17 and continue until her 11 a.m. traditional service on Friday, August 19th all being held at the boys and girls club in Ponemah, MN. Allen Hardy will officiate. Her pallbearers are Scott Perkins, Jr., Kevin Patterson, Sr., Terrence Perkins, Ken Roy, Arrow Whitefeather, Gage Cloud, Bruce Taylor, and Darren Iceman. Alternate pallbearers are James Johnson, Scott Perkins, Sr., Seth Glynn, and Darris Kingbird. Her honorary pallbearers are Kevin Patterson, Jr., Karelynn Patterson, Jillian and Evan Thomas, Gina Hurd, Lisa and Cherilyn Johnson, Lisa Pater, Cheyenne and Shayla Hardy, Robyn Johnson, Caitlyn Whitefeather, Ashley and Tiffany Stillday, Cynthia Nelson, Vicki Johnson, Janice Iceman, Jasinda Kingbird, and Kelci Perkins. Interment will be in the Whitefeather Family Burial Grounds at Ponemah, MN. Arrangements are by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, Walker, Minnesota
