Entourage Events Group Gets to Work to Transform Minneapolis' Historic Grain Belt Building

MINNEAPOLIS, MN ( August 10, 2022) – Entourage Events Group announced today it has commenced construction on an event center, The 1893; at the Historic Grain Belt Offices, located at 1215 Marshall Street in Minneapolis. When complete, the 129-year-old building will be transformed into a top-notch event facility featuring the latest in hospitality amenities over multiple levels.

Entourage plans to convert the underutilized common space into numerous customized private dining rooms, meetings and conference rooms, and a couple’s suites for weddings. The most notable addition will be the repurposing of Grain Belt’s historic and once-popular beer tasting room into a large ballroom capable of hosting small to large groups. This repurposing is fitting as the once popular tasting room will once again be filled with people celebrating various important occasions.

Transforming a building built to make beer into an event center is not an easy task. Attention to the details of its history and preservation of the building must be handled with the utmost in care. Working with RSP Architects, Entourage is making sure the charm of the building is preserved, while adding features for modern hospitality service needs.

“RSP was thrilled to work with the Entourage Group to continue the renovations of the historic Grain belt Brewery complex, one of Minneapolis’ great landmarks,” said Neal Cross AIA Senior Associate. “Throughout the process RSP and Entourage Group worked tirelessly to preserve the historic nature of the building. We look forward to being able to share the spectacular and historically unique space with the community.”

Repurposing this historic venue is something that will help to enhance Northeast Minneapolis, once feared to be an abandoned section of the city. In the last calendar year alone, two neighboring event centers: Aria and The Muse have closed their doors.

“I am pleased to see what Entourage is doing to create this site into a destination that those visiting the Northeast Entertainment District will be able to experience the rich history of this building,” said Michael Rainvile, Minneapolis City Council Member for Ward Three. “It is exciting to see a building with an iconic past, get a facelift that will once again make it a relevant property in our city.”

This project is another example of how Entourage is building upon the City’s past to create new developments as investments in our city’s future. A Grand Opening event and media preview of this re-purposed space will be scheduled for early October.
