Republican Jim Schultz To Face Ellison In November

Political Outsider Wins Primary With Tough-On-Crime Message

PLYMOUTH, Minn. – Minnesota Republicans tonight made it clear that they want to restore public safety to Minnesota by choosing political outsider Jim Schultz as their Attorney General nominee. Schultz, a Twin Cities-based attorney originally from rural Minnesota, made Minnesota’s rising crime and Keith Ellison’s dangerous efforts to defund the police a centerpiece of his campaign throughout the primary. As of 10:31 PM, Schultz was declared the winner with over 53% of the vote.

“Tonight, we’ve taken a big step toward making Minnesota a safer place to live, work, and raise a family. Now, we must focus on finishing the job of restoring public safety to Minnesota by defeating in November the most far-left attorney general in Minnesota’s history,” said Schultz. “Under Keith Ellison, Minnesota has become less safe – carjackings, murders, and other crime have crippled our state, and Ellison’s support of defunding police would make things worse for everyone, especially the most vulnerable, in this great state.”

Schultz has been endorsed by the Republican Party of Minnesota and the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association (MPPOA).
