Ponemah Triathlon held the week of July 23rd - P6

August 3, 2022

The Ponemah Community staff, Alex and Bruce, put on another great event. The event was to promote health, wellness and to bring everyone together in a good way.

Due to the wind coming off the lake which created some white caps the planning committee had to make some last minute adjustments to the course. The Triathlon started off with the canoe race at the Point. Each contestant had to race a half mile out and back to shore. Once back, they had to tag off to the next contestant who had to bike 6 miles back to town.

Once the bike contestant reached town they had to tag off on the runner, who ran a mile and a half to the finish line.

Thanks to all the people that came together to organize and plan. It's good to see so many people wanting to be involved. All programs involved in the event were the Ponemah Center staff, Alex Dow, Bruce Taylor and Corey Whitefeather. The Ponemah Outpatient staff, Lisa Whitefeather, Shaulissa Kingbird, Blaine Raincloud and Tessie Barrett. The Ponemah Fire Department, Ron Cloud, Marcel Johnson, Garrett Neslon nd Deonte Johnson. Red Lake Conservation Tyson Nelson, James Cloud Jr and Paul Smith. And the Red Lake Fire Department, Dominic Lussier and Mark Jourdain. Summer youth workers were Ashlyn Roy, James Johnson, Bear Cloud and Dakota Rosebar.

Thank you all for all your help.
