Rick May, 41, of Red Lake, Minnesota, died July 27, 2022, at Red Lake Hospital.

Rick was born January 11, 1981, to June May and Donald May Sr in Bemidji, Minnesota. Rick was a brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, friend but there's nothing he loved more than being a father. He was blessed with his three girls and one son. He also become a grandpa this past June. He always liked being home. He loved to draw and color. He liked listening to music and visit about life itself to his kids. He loved getting tattoos and dedicated some to his kids. He always found a way to laugh even in the toughest of situations. He loved to ride his bike all over the reservation to visit family or his buddies. He loved to terrorize their dogs, Snoop and Kilo, and spend time with his baby girl, Ricki. He changed alot after losing his precious Shantaye Rose and his best friend Vernon May. He missed them so very much. He had a few different jobs at TRF Casino over the years.

Rick is survived by, his daughters: Roselynn, Ericka and Ricki May; his son, Patrick May; granddaughter, Sequoia; one grandbaby on the way in December; his brothers: Gregory Barrett of St Paul MN, Tony May Sr of Bemidji MN, Chris (Arlene) May of Red Lake MN; his sisters: Bonnie May of Red Lake MN, Denise May of Minneapolis MN, Jessica Roberts (Jon) of Red Lake MN, Amanda May of Duluth MN, and Emmy May of Red Lake MN; life partner, Allison Cook of Red Lake MN, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He will be greeted by his parents, June and Donald May Sr., daughter, Shantaye May, best brother Vernon May, brothers James, Little Guy, Donald May Jr, Dean May, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A wake will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Monday August 1, 2022, at the Red Lake Center and will continue until the service at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. Active casketbearers will be: Joe May, Ron Day, Vernon May, Jr., Eddie Lone, Tyrone May, Derek Smith, Robin May, Rowdy May, John Lussier and Floyd Jourdain, Jr. Honorary casketbearers will be: Avery Loud, Jess Roberts, Chris May, Greg Barrett, Emmy May, Amanda May, Dave May, Trina Lone, Valerie May, John Lussier, Bonnie May, Tony May, Sr., Mike Cook, James Weise, Jr., and Denise May.
