Rosalie Ellen (Stately) Jourdain, age 72, of Red Lake, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world on Monday, July 18th, 2022, from the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND with her husband by her side.

Rosalie was born on July 23rd, 1949, to Winifred Downwind and Juan Perez in Red Lake, MN. Rose married Bruce Jourdain, Sr. on January 24th, 1970. She worked in many positions in her life that all involved caring for others. Rose always had a smile and one of her hugs for everybody she knew. Rosie was well known among her family and friends for her fry bread, her fabulous dumplings, homemade stuffing and her Spanish rice. She will be missed by all her family and many friends.

Those greeting her are her daughter, Allison Elaine Stately; her parents, Winifred and Juan; brothers, Alvin Downwind, Sr. and James Westbrook; grandparents, Rose and Xavier.

She leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Bruce Jourdain, Sr .; her children, Bruce Jr. and John; adopted daughter, Arlene Downwind White; grandchildren, DeShane, Jonathon, the twins Tristan and Caleb and Allison, many other relatives and friends.

An overnight wake for Rose will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21st and continue until her 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Friday, July 22nd all being held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN. Pallbearers for Rose will be Alvie Downwind, Joe Kettle, Brandon Downwind, Aaron Jack, Al Parkhurst and Buck Jourdain. Her honorary pallbearers are Meryle Sayers, Lianne Lussier, Gina Jourdain, Bonnie Jourdain, Arlene White, Rose White, Jennifer Jourdain and Patty Johnson. Inurnment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake, MN at a later date.
