Nicole Leeann Maxwell, age 39, formerly of Bemidji, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 17th, in Rochester, MN. Nikki requested to be cremated with no funeral service. Her mother is honoring her wishes. There will be a family burial of ashes and a celebration of her life at a later date. Nicole was born on December 15, 1982, the daughter of Michelle Maxwell and Gerald Aasen. She was raised by her parents and extended family; attending schools in Clearbrook and Red Lake, Minnesota. She worked as a nursing assistant and childcare provider in early adulthood. She was married to Brandon Tschida on September 12, 2003. They had one child and later divorced.

Nicole was a strong, intelligent, independent, young woman living life on her own terms. She had a good sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. She was very talkative, often striking up conversations with others and making new friends wherever she went. She was a kind-hearted, generous, free spirit who will be greatly missed.
