Kimberly was born October 17th, 1965, at Old General Hospital in Minneapolis Minnesota to her Parents Darrell and Margret Skinaway. Kimberly grew up and lived in Minneapolis Minnesota with her brothers (John and Darrell Jr.) and sisters (Theresa, Shelly, Stacey, and Yvette). Kim attended High School in Minneapolis, obtaining her GED at 16 and entered the work force working various jobs throughout the years. In 1984 she was blessed with her first of five children Amber Fox. In 1986 Roshell was born, followed by Sarah in 1988, Darrell in 1991 and Jordan in 1993.

Kimberly was an outgoing free spirt. She was kindhearted and cared about everyone. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing a special bond with her many nieces and nephews. When she was not in the cities with her family there she was in the Bagley/Rice Lake/ Mahnomen area spending time with family there. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning, she always kept busy. Kimberly enjoyed music and dancing often listening to her 90's R and B/ Soul/ Hip-hop playlist.

Kimberly's Ojibway name is Giizhigookwe "Sky Woman" which means the one who walks in the sky. She is owaasisii odoodemen, she is bullhead clan. She is whole.

Kimberly is Survived by her sisters, Theresa Skinaway of Minneapolis, Shelly Skinaway of Minneapolis, and Yvette Skinaway of Minneapolis. Her children Amber (Sam Wadena) Fox of Mahnomen, Roshell (Mikel) Fox of Bagley, Sarah (Dennis) Goodwin of Rice Lake, Darrell (Indy LaFriniere) Fox of Shevlin and Jordan Skinaway of Lengby, Many Nieces, Nephews, and Grandchildren.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her grandmother Francis Thompson, parents Darrell and Margret Skinaway. Her sister Stacey Buckanaga. Her brothers John and Darrell Skinaway. And her long time significant other Steven Mountain.

Wake / Visitation will be held Thursday July 21st, 2022, from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm at the Rice Lake Community Center.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 22nd, 2022, at 2:00 pm the Rice Lake Community Center.

Burial will be at the St. Phillips Episcopal Cemetery in Rice Lake Minnesota.

Meal and gathering to follow at the Rice Lake Community Center.
