oan Marie (Lussier) Donnell, age 91, of Redby, MN, entered the spirit world, surrounded by her family, on Monday, July 4, 2022, from the Jourdain-Perpich Extended Care Facility in Red Lake.

Joan was born in Red Lake to Joseph and Nancy (Dudley) Lussier on September 27, 1930. Joan grew up in Redby with her brothers and sisters. She attended school in Redby and Red Lake. She married Edward Donnell and had four children, Althea, Leslie, Ruth and Donna. She lived in Redby, Minneapolis and other places, while raising her children. She was everyone's favorite auntie and would babysit for her family in a heartbeat.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs, visiting with friends and family, potlucks and get-togethers reading, especially her Bible, doing puzzles, and heading to the casino occasionally.

She will be greeted by her parents: Joe and Nancy; her daughters: Althea and Donna; her sisters: Anna Shoenborne, Gertrude Beaulieu, and Barbara Brun; her brothers: Kenneth Lawrence, Paul, Harlan, and Donald Lussier; her brothers in law: Claude Beaulieu, Daniel King, Arthur Schoenborne, Robert Barrett, Edward Perkins, Sr. and Francis Brun, Sr. and her nieces and nephews.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Les, Ruth Ann, Kelly and Carly; her sisters: Virginia Perkins and Ramona Barrett; grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.

The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Redby Center and continue until the service at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, with Father George Ross officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert Lynch, Benjamin Wipf, Donald Perkins, Jr., Jon Richards, Mark Barrett and Dan Brun. Her honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews, friends and family. Burial will be at the Episcopal Cemetery in Redby. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service (
