Archie King, Sr.

Archie King, Sr.

July 29, 1958 ~ June 29, 2022 (age 63)

Archie King Jr. of Battle River, Red Lake passed Wednesday morning June 29, 2022, at Sanford Fargo West Campus Hospital with loved ones by his side. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 29, 1958, to Archie King Sr. And Peggy Lou King of Battle River, Red Lake.

Archie grew up in South Minneapolis with his siblings. He went to Irving Elementary School, Philips Junior High School, and South High School. Summer was spent up North in Red Lake with his siblings and family. He gained his love for the outdoors, swimming, fishing, and hunting. He and his sibling “Ernie” King were best friends. He shared many memories of Ernie most of which were jokes and funny stories. They were both always into and up to something together. They enjoyed each other's company.

In the early eighties Archie owned a semi-truck and did some logging in greater Minnesota. He would marry (Kathleen (La Batte) and have three children, his only and special daughter Tiffany Jane King, sons Archie King III, and Christopher Aaron King. He would spend holidays and birthdays at his grandmother's home in Bemidji which is now Lake Bemidji Bed and Breakfast.

In the nineties he would remarry to Annette King and have son Cory Wayne King whom he shares a lifelong special bond with. Including “Little Man” Kacen Allen Mendoza, his grandson. He would become a counselor at Northern Winds Treatment Center in Redby. Archie had a very special place in his heart for his children and his twelve grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. He enjoyed birthdays and holidays with them very much. Teaching them about the outdoors as well as going to pow-wows and admiring all the regalia. Going to the fairs and the carnivals, watching the rides. Listening to music and going to concerts and performances of his favorite artists. He loved trips, car rides just to the store or to check mail or anything to be in a car. He really enjoyed spoiling his “little” Kaya-Lee with McDonalds fries.

He loved his casino trips with wife Annette; they have visited just about every casino in Minnesota and surrounding area. They would plan a getaway when they could. He loved his vehicles and always had to have a good running one. He had a Grand Marquis which he had custom painted and would always enter in the Red Lake Indian Days parades. He was an armature artist who wanted to do paint brushing on vehicles. He loved his “MickyD’s” and he would always tell you, “You know the rules”.

Archie is preceded in death by Parents Archie King Sr. And Peggy Lou King; Siblings, Ernest King, and Patrick Gordon. He is survived by his wife Annette King, children; Cory King, Tiffany King (Brandon), Archie King III, Christopher King; his grandchildren, “Little Man” Kacen Allen Mendoza, Coryssa Chevelle King, Calina Aydawn King, Cage Daniel King, Cory Wayne King Jr., Coryina Alivia King, Cathedral Ruben King, Roman Anthony King, “Little girl” Kaya-Lee Jewel Heart Neadeau, Braydon King Neadeau, Katie Jewels King/Nelson, Kayden King/Loffgren; his siblings; Michael Wayne (Katharine) King, Sherry Lee King, special niece Lisa, Kristi Ann King, many nieces and nephews, other family and friends and his neighbors.
