1 arrested after stabbing Bemidji woman on Mississippi River

BEMIDJI — A Deer River woman has been arrested after stabbing a Bemidji woman on Sunday evening on the Mississippi River near Bemidji.

According to a release from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 6:29 p.m. on June 19, deputies were dispatched to an assault that occurred on the Mississippi River between Power Dam Road NE and Roosevelt Road SE, about six miles east of Bemidji in Frohn Township.

Two groups of people were tubing down the Mississippi River when they stopped at a shallow spot in the river. The two groups, comprised of approximately 25 people, got into an argument which led to a large fight, the release said.
