Planned Parenthood North Central States Condemns Recent Violence Against Anti-Abortion Centers

St. Paul, MN—Planned Parenthood North Central States (PPNCS) today spoke out against the recent string of violence against Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs), anti-abortion clinics that use false and deceptive tactics to deter pregnant people from receiving abortion care. Most recently, Jane's Revenge, an abortion rights group that has damaged property in protests across the country, claimed responsibility for vandalizing a CPC in Des Moines.

"PPNCS strongly condemns violence in any form, including against those organizations such as Crisis Pregnancy Centers that hold values that differ from ours," said Sarah A. Stoesz, PPNCS President and CEO. "Under no circumstances does violence have an acceptable place in our society, and we unequivocally reject it as a solution to our disagreements. We strongly urge those who see violence as a legitimate path forward to reconsider, and to immediately cease any further engagement of this nature.

"Violence is wrong and only serves to stoke fear and division. The divisions that tear at our country's fabric cannot be healed through further division. We must do better."
