No Matter Who Wins the GOP Nomination for Governor, Minnesotans Lose

Every Republican gubernatorial candidate is dangerous and wrong for Minnesota

ROCHESTER, MN - Today, Minnesota Republicans gathered in Rochester, Minnesota to begin the process of choosing who they’ll endorse in the 2022 election for Minnesota Governor. With a slate of extreme candidates in the running, no matter who wins the nomination, Minnesotans lose.

“Republican governor candidates Scott Jensen, Rich Stanek, Kendall Qualls, and Paul Gazelka threaten to bring extreme policies to our state that are dangerous for our families and wildly out of touch with the needs of Minnesotans,” said Marissa Luna, executive director of Alliance for a Better Minnesota Action Fund. “We’ll do whatever it takes to stop them from bringing their harmful agendas to the governor’s office.”

Alliance for a Better Minenota hosted a GOP themed circus outside of the Mayo Civic Center, which included carnival games inspired by the GOP candidates for governor.

The organization also launched a mobile billboard, a slate of digital ads, and a website - MNGOPCircus.com - where voters can learn more about the candidates’ extreme agendas, which include underfunding Minnesota public schools, bringing a Texas-style abortion ban to Minnesota, and giving tax breaks to corporations and the wealthiest Minnesotans at the expense of ours schools and families.
