In Focus: Environmental Justice and Minnesota’s Climate Future will be hosted by Angela Davis

ST. PAUL, Minn., April 14, 2022 – As part of its In Focus series, MPR News will present a virtual discussion that explores some of the meaningful and culturally specific ways environmental justice is being addressed in Minnesota on April 27 at noon Central.

MPR News Angela Davis will be joined by Sharon M. Day, executive director of the Indigenous People’s Task Force, Theresa “Tee” McClenty, executive director of MN350, and Francisco Segovia, executive director of COPAL (Comunidades Organizando el Poder y la Acción Latina/Communities Organizing Latinx Power and Action) for In Focus: Environmental justice and Minnesota’s climate future.

“We know Minnesotans care about the environment in which they live,” said Stephanie Curtis, director of programming for MPR News. “But we also know that climate change and other environmental catastrophes have a greater impact on marginalized communities. That’s why we wanted to explore the idea of environmental justice through a Minnesota lens at the community engagement level.”
