Sanford Health and Samaritan's Feet welcome community volunteers for senior event on April 7

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Sanford Health in Bemidji and Samaritan’s Feet partner to serve senior residents of Neilson Place with a specially designed pair of shoes and a message of hope during an event on Thursday, Apr. 7, at Sanford Neilson Place, 1000 Anne Street NW, Bemidji, Minn. 56601.

Samaritan’s Feet serves and inspires hope and dignity in our aging population by providing shoes as the foundation to a spiritual and healthy life. Lack of proper footwear can have a negative impact on a senior’s health and well-being, the ability to live independently, community involvement and economic stability.

Anyone in the community who would like to assist with the event is welcome to register to volunteer by going to http://www.samaritansfeet.org/bemidji/. Volunteers will spend time with seniors, washing their feet, encouraging them and providing them with a new pair of specially designed shoes. Other volunteer roles include runners, water team, show area and greeters. Masks will be required for all volunteers at this event. For assistance with volunteering questions, please email kmeyers@samaritansfeet.org.
