Indian Affairs Leader Garriott to Testify at Senate Hearing on Federal Support for Native Business Capacity Building and Success

WASHINGTON —Tomorrow, March 16, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary - Indian Affairs Wizipan Garriott will testify before the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs regarding efforts to increase federal support for Native business capacity building and success, as well as removing barriers to equal opportunity for American Indian economic enterprises.

Garriott will speak about the Interior Department’s efforts to support economic development in Indian Country through the Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Indian Economic Development, which provides loans, grants and technical assistance to Tribes, Tribal enterprises, and individually owned businesses.

The hearing begins at 4:00 p.m. ET and can be viewed at the Committee’s website.
