Leah Marie Blakely, "Giwedinowasimowin" (Northern Lightning) was born on September 13, 1989 to Yvette Brinkley and Simon Blakely. She suddenly started her journey on March 4, 2022.

Leah was a loving mother that enjoyed spending the majority of her time with her one and only babygirl, Aleyha. They enjoyed shopping, going out to eat and to the movies.

Survived by daughter Aleyah Torres; mother-in-law Tita Pacheco; brother Edward Brinkley; sisters Roxanne Blakely, Sophronia Coltrane, Shashana Violet, Christina Torres; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her mother Yvette Brinkley; fathers Simon Blakely and Jim Johnson; significant other Cesar Torres; aunts Vianna, Jenie, Violet and Christie; uncles Eugene, Rodney and Percy and niece Danita.

Funeral service for Leah Marie Blakely will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at Gichitwaa Kateri Church, 3045 Park Avenue, Minneapolis, MN. Shawn Phillips will officiate. The drum group is Hoka Hey.

An all-night wake will be held Friday, March 18th beginning at 4 PM at Gichitwaa Kateri Church.

Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

Casket Bearers will be Donald Blackhawk, Darell Vilas, Kenny Vilas, Marcel Jackson, Jordain Thompson, DeAngelo Pryor, Donnell Pryor and Brandon Pryor.

Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, MN assisted the family with arrangements.
