Minnesota's Infrastructure Union: Lawmakers Have a Duty to Pay Forward State Surplus, Invest in Critical Infrastructure

Saint Paul, MN – Today, Minnesota Management and Budget will release a budget forecast for the current fiscal year. Joel Smith, President and Business Manager of LIUNA Minnesota and North Dakota released the following statement.

“Our state surplus dollars belong to the communities of Minnesota and lawmakers have a duty to pay it forward and protect our health and safety by investing in our critical infrastructure. The Legislature needs to seize this rare opportunity to make our drinking water, stormwater and wastewater infrastructure safe and to fully fund roads, bridges and transit needs in every corner of Minnesota.”
