CAREER DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
OSHKIIMAAJITAHDAH

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Instructor will coach relatives (clientele) to develop resumes, train employability skills and help remove barriers to work towards self-sufficiency. Works with Case Managers in completing requirements to be work ready. Reports to Career Development Service Supervisor. Full-time position with benefits, Salary; DOQ
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
• Guide relatives to becoming successful in their future endeavors, including job placement, and fulfilling education requirements.
• Determine appropriate goals and objectives.
• Assist in completion of writing appropriate job search correspondence including resume, and cover letters.
• Conduct mock interviews and coach on appropriate business etiquette.
• Prepare participants for the entire job search and interview process.
• Work as a career coach in counseling participants on succeeding in the workplace.
• Participate in additional assignments when needed.
• Track daily attendance and functions of the daily classes.
• Conduct interest and work style assessments and advice on career/education goals.
• Maintain bulletin board of current job vacancies.
• Continually researching how to help relatives get employment and best assist in training.
• Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
• GED/High School Diploma
• Must have valid driver's license and auto insurance
• Employment in contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug test and background check
• Abide by the Oshkiimaajitahdah Zero Tolerance Policy and Confidential Policy
• Ability to professionally interact with colleagues and relatives with varying personalities, backgrounds and cultures.
• Poised, professional appearance and demeanor.
• Excellent oral and verbal skills, effective interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable in front of a class, ability to communicate content effectively.
• Experience preferred in job training and customer service.
• Computer skills include Windows Office tools: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Ability to navigate tracking software.
