Rachel Kjolberg, age 27, of Elk River, MN, formerly Virginia, MN, died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

Rachel Renae was born July 1, 1994, in Fargo ND, to Richard and Jodi (Miller) Kjolberg. Rachel moved to Duluth MN in 1994 where she and her family lived for about 16 years. In 2010, they spent three years living in Virginia MN. Then the family traveled to California and Iowa where they made their home for a short period of time. Rachel made her way back to Duluth and later moved back to Virginia where she has made her home since. In 2015, Rachel gave birth to her son, Ricky James and in 2016 she had a daughter, Raquelle Renae. Rachel was so proud to be a mother and loved her children unconditionally. Over the years she held various jobs and enjoyed working with people. Rachel had many struggles in her life and was working towards recovery. Proudly, Rachel was baptized at the Free Grace Church on December 23, 2021. Her family takes comfort knowing she was welcomed into the next life by her parents, her sister, one brother, and many extended family members.

Rachel enjoyed chaos! She loved nature, poetry, reading, writing, taking walks, drawing, and all things dark or spooky. Rachel laughed often and enjoyed both telling and listening to jokes. She enjoyed looking into astrology and stargazing. Rachel loved photography and like to take photos of herself and everything around her, especially nature. Rachel often expressed herself through her art, doing her make up and through her music. To relax, Rachel liked singing and rocking out. Rachel was very unique and often times, rebellious. She didn’t mind being different and liked to stand out from everybody else. She was a free willed person who loved adventures and wasn't afraid say what was on her mind. Above all, Rachel enjoyed spending time with her friends.

Rachel survived by her son, Ricky James; daughter, Requelle Renae; one brother, Tony Kjolberg; many aunt, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. She was preceded in death and reunited with her father, Richard Sr; mother, Jodi; one brother, Richard Jr; one sister, Brooke; grandparents: Mary Oppegard, Murna Littlewolf, and Bob Kjolberg; a special uncle, Randy “Doobers” Miller Jr; and numerous extended family members.

Traditional Services will begin at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex, Naytahwaush, MN. Interment will be at the Naytahwaush Traditional Burial Grounds in the Spring.

Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, and CDC guidelines, social distancing will be practiced. Masks are strongly encouraged.
