Darrell James Alvarado, "Giikwekiigabo", age 48, from Naytahwaush, MN and the Wolf Clan, started his spiritual journey on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. He was born on February 26, 1973, in Detroit Lakes, MN the son of Roseanne (Bunker) and Harold Alvarado.

Darrell loved to jump in his car and go, he would travel all over, especially to go see his grandkids. He took his daughters on trips to Colorado. He enjoyed being outdoors, taking his boys hunting, trapping, or fishing on the backroads. Spending time with family and friends was always a priority for Darrell. He was an avid cannabis lover and made the best lasagna! He played games on his PlayStation and was his family and friends tattoo artist. Darrell always had time to play a card game with his family.

Family that will greet Darrell in the spirit world are his mom, Roseanne Alvarado; grandparents, Ramiro and Elizabeth "Chick" Alvarado, and Glenn Bunker; and numerous other family members.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Darrell are his father, Harold Alvarado of Fisher, MN; sons, Furious, Dayton, Austin, and Titus Alvarado, and Skylar Lafriniere; daughters, Constance Treetop and Mataya Alvarado; brothers, Derrick Alvarado of Naytahwaush and Garrett (Sam) Alvarado of Fargo, ND; sister, Susie (David) Ballot of Calloway, MN; grandmother, Phyllis Bunker; 3 grandchildren, Joselyn, Colton, and Collin Treetop; and special friend, Nita Shangreau.

An overnight wake for Darrell will begin Friday, February 25, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. and continue until his Saturday, February 26, 2022, 12:00 p.m. service, all to be held at the Naytahwaush Complex in Naytahwaush, MN. Darrell's spiritual advisor will be Mike Dahl. Those helping to lay Darrell to rest will be Jesse Alvarado, Kenny Man, Clint Amberson, DJ Garceau, Codey Lang, and Bill Bravebull. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Alvarado, Laurie Brown, Joe Doxsee, Billy Johnson, Pete Alvarado, Chach Suarez, Manny Bush, and Justin Littlewolf. Interment will be at Darrell's residence in Naytahwaush, MN.
